The 13th meeting of the GCC SAIs’ Undersecretaries commenced in 10-13 October in the InterContinental Hotel in the Festival City in Dubai.
The meeting was chaired by H.E. Mohammed Abdulla Bin Mani Al Humairi, the Assistant Undersecretary of the State Audit Institution, in presence of the GCC SAIs Undersecretaries and the General Secretary representatives. At the opening speech, he welcomed and thanked the attendees for their attendance wishing them success in serving the mutual audit work.
H.E. Al Humairi said that this meeting is considered preparation for the 10th meeting of their Excellencies Presidents of the GCC SAIs, which will be held in Abu Dhabi during the period from 6th to 7th December 2011. The meeting agenda includes many issues related to the audit of field works and the importance of strategic planning of the audit work, in addition to the recommendation of approving some of the audit manuals prepared by the technical audit teams in the GCC.
The undersecretaries discussed the draft manual of the quality assurance of the SAIs audit works and reports. They handled the methods of developing audit performance, enhancing proficiency and sharing the SAIs experiences in their electronic transactions with their auditees in order to achieve the required communication among the GCC SAIs.
The participants addressed many issues related to the GCC SAIs in order to conclude with recommendations to be submitted to Their Excellencies Presidents of the GCC SAIs during their meeting to take the necessary actions and enhance the cooperation between the GCC in the financial and administrative audit field.
