As part of its social responsibility and its continuing commitment to the community, the State Audit Institution (SAI) has organized this morning (Sunday 28 February) a blood donation campaign in front of its headquarters in Abu Dhabi. This campaign was conducted in cooperation with the Center for Mobile Blood Bank of the Khalifa Medical City.
This initiative is to support the emergency and operations departments in the U.A.E for preserving the lives of many injured in traffic accidents, patients with Thalassaemia, and those in need of blood transfusion. Such participation represents the cooperation and interdependence that characterizes the U.A.E society.
The campaign was conducted between 09:00 AM and 03:00 PM witnessed high participation by more than (75) SAI’s employees. Brochures and booklets that contain valuable information on the blood donation were distributed, in addition to a presentation on the benefits of donation, the frequency of blood donation and persons qualified to do so.
The conditions that must be met by the donor have been clarified including donor’s age, donor’s good health, the donor does not take any drugs or injections and should not weight less than 50 K.G, the hemoglobin percentage should not be less than 13.5G and the donor had not previously donated during the past three months.
The SAI seeks always to adopt social initiatives that reflect its values and its mission which are parts of its objectives and strategic plans. The SAI appealed to healthy people to donate periodically, emphasizing that the donation is beneficial for them and is considered a highly appreciated humanitarian service.
